Mains Electricity Supply
It seems unimaginable these days, that we could ever exist without electricity, but we did, until 1963.  Yes 1963 was the year when the first mains powered light was switched on in MILLHOUSE.
The main Contractor firm, “Scotts” installed the 11kva poles and lines.
They rented the Smithy to use as a local workshop during the contract, which is where all the galvanized wire stays and brackets for the poles, were fabricated .

The North Western Electricity Board followed-on with the installation of the pole mounted step-down transformers and the low voltage spur supplies to the properties.

In the spring of 2015, "Electricity North West" carried out the major rerouting of the 11kva overhead power lines.
The spur which supplies the village was installed underground.
